    How much will it cost for the Porting Service?

    What happens when my porting process is in progress?

    A

    While waiting for the number port request to complete:

    • When available; MacTel will update your status via email 
    • The number transfer process generally takes between seven to fifteen business days. 
    • Until the transfer has been completed; MacTel will provide you a Temporary Canadian number
    • While the transfer is in progress; you can still make outbound calls from your MacTel
    • Your existing number will remain with the current service provider; until the transfer process is completed.

    What are the common causes of port failure?

    A

    Your number porting request may fail for a number of reasons, including (but not limited to) any single or combination of the following reasons:

    1. Your Name does not match with the name on file with the current service provider
    2. Your Account number does not match with the account number on file with the current service provider
    3. Your Phone number is disconnected
    4. Your Phone number is no longer held by your account with the current service provider
    5. Your Address failed to match with the address on file with the current service provider.
    6. Conflicting port order with the current service provider
    7. Your Phone number tied to another service on the current provider's account

    What should I do if my porting process fails?

    Depending on the particular reason or combination of reasons for failure, you do have the option to correct/rectify the information submitted with your transfer order. Kindly do not disconnect your service from your current provider until you transfer your number to MacTel.

    How can I transfer my MacTel number to another service provider?

    A

    In order to initiate or complete the transfer a number on your MacTel account to a new service provider, eligible porting requests should be initiated by your new service provider, who will coordinate the transfer.
